Sending Scheduled Reports to SFTP Servers

You can configure scheduled reports to send to a defined SFTP server when generated. The following are instructions for configuring the integration workflow needed to send a scheduled report to a defined server. Once set up, you can import the integration as a data source for external third-party systems, such as Tableau or Power BI.

Note:

A scheduled report must first be set up in order to send the report to a defined SFTP server when generated. For more information on scheduling reports, see Scheduling a Report. For more information on the available systems for which OneTrust supports workflow implementation, see Creating Integration Workflows.

Important:

SFTP Algorithm Deprecation Notice

OneTrust is extending support for several legacy algorithms through March 28, 2025. After this date, any deprecated algorithms used in the Integrations module will cause workflows and credentials to fail. To prevent any interruption of service, customers are encouraged to audit their SFTP integrations and credentials for any deprecated algorithms.

For more information and the complete list of deprecated and supported algorithms, see SFTP Algorithm Deprecation Notice from OneTrust.

Integrating with external third-party systems

You can integrate with third-party systems, such as Tableau and Power BI, to ingest OneTrust data within those systems for customized dashboards and analytics to drive insight into your privacy program's activity. The following is an example of how to import the report data into Power BI.

  1. Once the integration workflow is set up and activated, the selected scheduled reports will send to the location on your server that you defined at the configured schedule.

  2. After the scheduled report has generated, you can navigate to the Power BI system, and click the Get Data button.

  3. In the File Explorer window that appears, navigate to the location where the report was stored and select the report file. You can then use the respective data within the file to build and reference the dashboard within Power BI.
